Rob Decina is currently casting pilots for ABC Family in NY. He recently cast the independent film, "The Stand Up" which stars Aidan Quinn and Margarita Levieva.
He was the five time Emmy-Nominated Casting Director for the daytime drama Guiding Light. His other casting credits include the independent film A Tale of Two Pizzas (which opens in Feb. 2005) and casting searches in New York for Dawson’s Creek, The Scorpion King, and National Lampoon’s Van Wilder. Before Guiding Light he was the Associate Casting Director at Warner Bros. Television in New York where he was involved in the casting for The West Wing, Third Watch, and more than forty other primetime television pilots.
He has made television appearances on MTV's "Run's House", "Mike & Mike in the Morning" for ESPN2 and ESPN Radio, SoapTalk, CBS’ The Early Show, WE's "Young, Sexy and...Soapy", The Learning Channel, Bravo’s "It Factor", SoapNet’s Soap Center and"Toni Time" for the WB 11 NY News. He has been interviewed on the radio by Mark Farrell for CD 101.9, on the KTU 103.5 FM Morning Radio Show and on WOR's Joan Hamburg Show as well as by many publications including Backstage, Soap Opera Digest, SoapDom.com, ShowBiz Weekly and An Actor’s Guide: Making it in New York City by Glenn Alterman, to name a few.
He is an adjunct Professor in Communications at Pace University and has taught workshops and lectured at various colleges and theater schools around the country including NYU, Juilliard School of Drama, Sarah Lawrence College, New York Stage and Film at Vassar College, The Neighborhood Playhouse, University of Miami in Ohio, The Lee Strasburg Theatre Institute, New School of Drama and Rutgers University. He teaches audition technique at TVI Actors Studio in New York.
He has a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Communications from Pace University.
He is a member of the Casting Society of America and has been nominated for eight Artios Awards for Outstanding Casting on a Daytime Episodic Drama.
